Health
Good health underpins secure lives. The vulnerable communities that we work with, do not have easy access to health and medical services. People prioritise work and the daily challenges to survive, over their personal health and well-being. With the support of donors, we are able to bring valuable health and medical services to them, running regular medical camps in the villages.
Prevention through education
The main role of the medical camp intervention is prevention. Prevention means educating people on how to reduce or avoid disease transmission, identifying and treating chronic illnesses to prevent long-term complications, and immunizing children against preventable diseases.

Eye medical camps
BLESS currently runs bi-monthly eye medical camps, offering sight tests and glasses.

Women’s health meetings
Using the services of local doctors and nurses, BLESS delivers valuable information and advice to women of all ages. Subjects such as menstrual health and cervical cancer are not typically spoken about openly. The meetings provide a safe space for women to access medical information. The combination of professional advice and the presence of the trusted BLESS team means the women feel able to put their hands up and ask questions.

Thanks to these camps, people who have rarely or never seen doctors will receive free care and evaluation targeted to their needs.
Nutrition camp
We run nutrition programmes for children and their parents, making them aware of healthy foods that they can grow, prepare and eat.
